Isaiah 46 4 Nkjv
Isaiah 46 4 Nkjv

Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

This verse, found in the book of Isaiah, chapter 46, verse 4, in the New King James Version (NKJV) of the Bible, speaks to the enduring nature of God’s relationship with His people. It emphasizes God’s commitment to carrying and delivering them throughout all stages of life, from youth to old age. The imagery of God carrying his people like a parent carries a child is a powerful expression of His care, compassion, and omnipotence.

In this context, the verse is part of a larger passage where God is contrasting Himself with the idols of the nations, highlighting His unique ability to predict the future and bring it to pass, and to care for His people in every circumstance. The idols, made by human hands, are destitute of the power to predict future events or to help those who trust in them. On the other hand, the God of Israel is the all-powerful Creator who can declare the end from the beginning and can take care of His people throughout their entire lives.

The promise “Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you!” resonates deeply with the themes of divine providence, faithfulness, and the eternal nature of God’s covenant with His people. It assures believers that they are not alone in any phase of their lives, whether in times of strength or weakness, youth or age. God’s care is not limited by human frailties or the passage of time; instead, He remains an ever-present help, guiding, carrying, and delivering His people.

This verse has been a source of comfort and encouragement for many, reminding them of God’s unwavering commitment to those who trust in Him. It invites reflection on the nature of faith, trust, and the profound reassurance that comes from knowing God as a personal, loving, and eternal Father who carries His children through all of life’s challenges and joys.
